Terms of Service

Last updated: October 1, 2026

These terms explain how you may use the NidoKey app and service to open the doors of your building or home, and what each of us is responsible for. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy.

1. Who we are and acceptance

NidoKey is provided by Logic Edge SL, a company registered in Spain ("we", "us"). By installing or using the NidoKey app or service, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use NidoKey.

2. The service

NidoKey lets authorised people open doors from their phone, from widgets and from NFC tags, and receive doorbell rings with camera images. It works together with a NidoKey device installed next to the intercom of your building or home, and with a virtual key that we issue to you.

Features may differ between phones, operating systems, devices and versions, and we may improve, change or discontinue features over time.

3. The NidoKey device and its installation

The supply, installation, maintenance and any fees for the NidoKey device are governed by the separate agreement made with the customer who ordered it. These terms cover the app and the online service. If they conflict with that agreement on a matter concerning the device, the agreement prevails.

4. Who may use NidoKey

You may use NidoKey only to open doors you are entitled to open, with a key issued to you. You must have the legal capacity to accept these terms; a key for a minor under 14 is issued only at the request of a parent or guardian, who is responsible for its use.

Whoever orders an installation confirms that they have the permission needed from the owner, the community of owners or the person in charge of the building or home.

5. Your virtual key

  • Your key is personal and works only on the phone where you set it up. Do not try to copy it, share it or use it on behalf of others.
  • Protect your phone with a screen lock and keep its system up to date. Anyone who can unlock your phone could open your doors.
  • If your phone is lost or stolen, or you think someone else used your key, tell us at once at our contact address so that we can disable it. You can also pause or delete your key in the app.
  • Widgets and NFC tags are shortcuts, not keys: every opening still needs your phone and your confirmation.
  • Keys may stop working when they expire, when access is withdrawn by whoever authorised it, or when we disable them for security reasons.

6. Availability and important limitations

NidoKey depends on things outside our control, such as electricity, the intercom and door hardware, the internet connection, Bluetooth, your phone and third-party services. We work hard to keep it reliable, but we cannot guarantee that it will always be available or that every opening will succeed.

  • Always keep another way to get in, such as a physical key.
  • NidoKey is not an emergency or safety system. Do not rely on it to escape, to let emergency services in or in any situation where a failure could put people at risk.
  • If the app says that the result of an opening is uncertain, the door may have opened. Check it before trying again.

7. Doorbell and camera images

When someone rings, the NidoKey device may take camera images and send them, encrypted, to the phones paired with it. Use this feature in line with the law and respect the privacy of visitors and neighbours. Whoever installs or enables a camera is responsible for any notices or permissions required where it is installed.

8. Updates

We release updates of the app and of the device firmware to add features and fix security issues. Device updates are sent from the app over Bluetooth and must be signed by us. Keep the app and the device up to date; older versions may stop working with the service.

9. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • use NidoKey to enter places you are not allowed to enter, or help others to do so;
  • tamper with the NidoKey device, the intercom wiring or the doors it controls, except as allowed by the installation agreement;
  • try to bypass, disable or test the security of NidoKey, its devices or its servers without our written permission, or overload or disrupt the service;
  • copy, modify, resell or reverse engineer the app or the firmware, except where the law allows it.

If you find a security issue, please report it privately to our contact address so that we can fix it.

10. Licence and intellectual property

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the NidoKey app on devices you own or control, for as long as you are allowed to use the service. The app, the firmware, the service, the NidoKey name, logo and artwork belong to Logic Edge SL or its licensors.

If you downloaded the app from the App Store, Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies where these terms do not cover a matter. Apple and Google are not responsible for the service or for support.

11. Fees

The app is free to download. Any fees for the device or the service are set out in the installation agreement.

12. Suspension and ending

You can stop using NidoKey and delete your key in the app at any time. We may pause or disable a key, or suspend access, if these terms are breached, to protect security, at the request of whoever authorised the access, or when the installation agreement ends. Where possible, we will let you know.

13. Liability

We are responsible for providing the service with reasonable care and skill. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control, by the limitations described in these terms, or by the use of NidoKey contrary to these terms, nor for indirect losses or lost profits.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or any right that cannot be limited under consumer law.

14. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we process personal data when you use NidoKey.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when the service or the law changes. We will change the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the app or by email before they apply. If you do not accept the new terms, you can stop using NidoKey and delete your key.

16. Applicable law and disputes

These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live and can bring claims before the courts of your place of residence. We would always rather solve problems directly: write to us first at our contact address.
